Tonto Natural Bridge + Lockett Meadow

I was so excited to finally feel good enough to even think about hiking.  It's been a while and I feel like the promise of seeing some fall colors was the excitement that I needed.  Shane and I had a couple of free state park passes that we needed to use and we took the opportunity to explore somewhere new.

We made our way towards Tonto Natural Bridge, neither of us had ever been, and enjoyed a quiet ride, just spending time with each other and sharing the things we've been excited about lately.  As we arrived at the park, it was just gorgeous.  Hints of fall peeked through the landscape and we were both more then ready to enjoy some time with nature.

We decided on making our way towards the Anna Mae Trail. The weather was just perfect and the trail was much easier than I was expecting, especially since I haven't been able to do much exercising lately. We had so much fun doing something we both love and Shane got a few laughs in watching me try to maneuver around the big boulders while trying not to fall in the water.  I'm always glad when I can make him laugh, even if it's at me.  But, I can't lie, it was pretty ridiculous and I can only imagine how funny I looked.

I feel so lucky that we have so much fun together and that almost everything we get to do together is my absolute favorite. I know it might sound exaggerated, but just writing this I get so excited that I have a best friend who I just can't get enough of.

Anyways, enough of the gushy stuff, it's not very INTJ of me.  I was high on the feelings of fall and wanted to continue our adventure.  We decided to head over to Lockett Meadow in Flagstaff, hoping we had enough time to enjoy the sunset when we got there. We literally made it just in time and it was so worth it.

After making our way up the scariest of steep hills, the view was epic. Most of the golden leaves had already fallen off the Aspen trees, but there were still tons of magic to be seen.  We didn't stay very long, the chilly 45 degree weather was not expected and we wanted to make sure to make it back down before we were thrown into total darkness. But the peek that we got, amazing, and we'll definitely be back another time.
