We're Engaged + 12.03.2016

I have to say, Shane did the best job making this engagement a total surprise to me.  I can't even put into words how shocked I was when it happened, but it was the best and most special ever!

How it all went down, the best story EVER!  It was a Saturday and we had planned to take our holiday photos that evening.  The day started off as usual, coffee and lounging. Shane had made plans to go "geo caching," yes, it's in quotes, because apparently that was just a cover.  But, in true Brandi style, I threw a wrench in his plans and wanted to go to the fabric store.  I said he could just drop me off and pick me up when he was done.  I planned to get on the light rail and go to Mill Ave. for some holiday window shopping.

I had no idea that he was running around, picking up balloons and planning with my mom for a dinner afterwards to celebrate, completely clueless.  Honestly, we had talked about getting married, it was something we both wanted and were ready for, but I was still in waiting mode.  You know what I mean ladies, you're ready, you've made your intentions known and now the balls in his court, we'd even gone ring shopping.

We got ready to head out to the desert for our holiday photos.  We set up and we're having the best time being silly and totally us and I decided we needed one more "serious" shot.  And then it happened.

I was about to set up the camera, turned around and Shane was on one knee with that little box in his hand.  I about LOST MY MIND.  The tears came flowing, I was in complete shock.  Of course I said yes, because I'm just the luckiest lady in the world. And then we did it again AND again to capture the moment.

This was nearly a year ago, December 3, 2016 and we still talk about how surprised I was.  Another little secret he'd been keeping was that he'd had the ring since October. He even initially planned to propose on our Seattle trip that same month.  I had no idea he had the ring with him the ENTIRE trip.

Penny Coco is thrilled that we're getting married. But seriously all she wanted to do was sit in the truck the entire time we were taking photos and finally decided that she could pose for just one photo before we left.  We're so excited to go on this journey together and we can't wait to celebrate with all of our family.

You can check out our Wedding On The Road post, here to see how we'll be celebrating!
