Sardines and Rice

Lazy weekends, a good record, company with our fur baby and easy lunches is how we like to do it. Especially when we don't feel like going anywhere, you know, us being super introverted an all.  We try and use what we have on hand if we haven't made it to the grocery store, it also keeps us on our strict budget.

Ingredients

1 package sardines in olive oil
1 cup cooked rice
sesame oil
salt
pepper
red peper flakes
lemon wedges
1 Umeboshi*, we can seriously only eat one of these, but they're so good

*Salted Japanese Plums

Procedure

Add one cup rice to your favorite bowl and season with sesame oil (just a touch) and salt, pepper & red pepper flakes to taste.  Top with sardines and a squeeze of lemon, finish with your Umeboshi.
